Slow cookers are the busy mom’s best friend. You just toss in all your ingredients, turn the cooker on, go to work, and come home to a hot meal. Cook this Bolognese sauce by first sautéing onions, celery, and carrots in olive oil. Add the ground beef and cook it until there’s no pink left. Pour in the milk and turn the heat on high. When the milk has evaporated, transfer it to your slow cooker.

In the same skillet, add your tomato paste and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Add this to your slow cooker, together with some salt, nutmeg, and tomatoes. Turn the slow cooker on low for 8 hours. Just add pasta when you’re ready to eat.
